With a family farming background that has been rooted in the Langdon area for many years I have had an opportunity to acquire an understanding of the invaluable role that agriculture plays right here in Rocky View County.
Following several years at the University of Lethbridge in Ag Business, I returned home to work alongside my dad to help in the production of cereal grains, oilseeds, and pulses. I am a prairie girl through and through. Whether I am checking depths behind a seeder in the field, digging in my garden or, dare I say it... climbing on top of my combine with a camera in hand to catch that harvest sky, I have developed a great passion for the land and the rural way of life.
Recently I was accepted into Farm Management Canada's Bridging the Gap Program focusing on farm succession through which I hope to gain insight into the tools necessary to carry the farm forward in order to share it with the next generation. These past few years as a farm member with the ASB have allowed me to learn from and work alongside a diverse range of producers in the county and have left me with a much deeper appreciation for local agriculture so close to home.
