Special Collection Programs

Agriculture Roundups

Agricultural Roundups are mobile collection stations providing a place for specific agricultural materials to be recycled where transfer sites are not available. Roundup events occur between May and September each year.

Household Hazardous Waste

Household Hazardous Waste includes items such as paint, oil and oil containers, unused chemicals, cleaners, aerosol cans, and other toxic waste. Year-round hazardous waste collection is offered at Bragg Creek, Langdon, Irricana, and Cochrane Transfer Stations.

Yard Waste

Yard waste is short cuts of brush and branches, grass and leaves for composting.  Currently, compost areas at the Crossfield, Cochrane, Bragg Creek, Langdon, and Irricana Transfer Stations collect yard waste.

Christmas Tree Recycling

Rocky View County offers as annual recycling program for natural Christmas trees. Residents who bring in a tree for recycling receive a free voucher for a new tree seedling from local tree nurseries. Drop-off locations may vary from year to year.
