Note: Gravel sales are closed for the winter as of November 1, 2016. Sales and loading are scheduled to restart in June 2017, weather and road conditions permitting.
Rocky View County offers bulk gravel sales to County residents between June and October. This service includes both the purchase and loading of the material. The purchaser is responsible for arranging a truck to haul their product. Prior to purchase, residents MUST contact Road Operations at 403.520.3951 to confirm ticket prices, material availability, loader availability and gravel pit location.
Gravel tickets must be purchased in advance in person at the County Administration Office during regular business hours (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). Payment may be made by cash, debit, cheque, or Mastercard / Visa, and proof of identity and residency (eg. driver’s license) is required at time of purchase.
There is a yearly limit of ten tickets per material type, per tax-roll. One ticket entitles the purchaser to 12 tonnes (7.5m3 / 10 yd3) of material – smaller quantities are not available. There is no expiry on gravel tickets.
Materials can only be picked up when the County has a loader available at the pit.

Loading will be done by the County but the purchaser is responsible to arrange their own hauling:
- Trucks must be a tandem gravel truck or larger.
- Pickup trucks and utility trailers will not be loaded.
- No partial loads.
- Minimum of ten business days are required to arrange for loading.
