Fishing

Rocky View County and its neighbouring communities are home to several world-class fishing spots.

There are many local stocked fishing ponds including Mclean Pond and Allen Bill Pond in the Bragg Creek area and Dewitt’s Pond, Airdrie Pond, and Crossfield Trout Pond in the north.

The blue ribbon Bow River is a great place to find Brown and Rainbow Trout while nearby Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise and Kananaskis country provide great Whitefish and Trout fishing along with stunning views.

Anyone sport fishing in Alberta requires a license, with exception to children under 16 years of age, seniors older than 65, and First Nations peoples. For more information about fishing, regulations and licensing in Alberta, visit the Sustainable Resource Development's website.
